GMH Builders Reaches New Heights in 2019
As the year comes to a close, it’s a perfect time to reflect on all that GMH Builders has accomplished. It’s been another year to remember for our awesome crew: new construction and increased recognition for our excellence and dedication to building.
Here’s a list of our top 10 highlights and publications from 2019.
1. 02.25.19 | SONOMA TRIBUTE
Catching up with a grad: Builder Seth Maze
Looking forward, Maze plans to continue working on GMH Builders’ growth. The business is only three years old and has already outperformed its initial plan.
2. GMH COMPLETES MACARTHUR PLACE MODERNIZATION
Located in Sonoma, the MacArthur Place Refresh project entailed the modernization and refresh of an existing and operational historic hotel resort. Work entailed the modernization of a historic building, the conversion of a longstanding barn into a convention center, the development of a luxurious 64-room hotel, ADA standards, assisting in grading and drainage improvements, site work on the existing buildings, and stormwater treatment and retention for the parking lot; all while minimizing alterations to historic features.

4. GMH IS AWARDED NOVATO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT, GROUNDS, AND MAINTENANCE OFFICE
The project entails new construction of a 9,600 square foot, one-story, 17' 3"-foot-high GMO building and associated improvements. The building dimensions would be approximately 60 by 160 feet and contain three large shop spaces, two small offices, a meeting room, a kitchen, a locker room, a shower, a restroom, and a file room. Associated improvements include 30,300 square foot parking lot storage areas, landscaping, and utilities. The project will retain and use an existing loading dock at the northwest corner of the site. The building would be used for offices and workshop space for the District grounds maintenance crews and would house 15 employees.

Russian River Health & Wellness Center being built in Guerneville to replace outdated clinic
Sonoma County’s GMH Builders has been selected for the project and the county recently approved the grading and site work permit. The construction permit is expected to be issued before fall.
6. GMH CONTINUES TO BUILD FOR SONOMA FIT IN NOVATO
Located in Novato, GMH Builders continues to build for Sonoma Fit. The project entails an interior build out of a high-tech gym. GMH Builders celebrates our continued relationship with Sonoma Fit.

Anticipating business growth in the low teens in some cases, area contractors are facing the problems of growth, detailed regulation, labor shortages, and the need to address the results of massive 2017 wildfires. GMH Builders shares their views on industry challenges and growth.
8. GMH MAKES ITS MARK ON THE CITY OF SONOMA
Wander around the City of Sonoma and you’ll find GMH Builders is making its mark. GMH projects include MacArthur Place, Taub Family Outpost, Purely Sonoma, Sonoma Valley Hospital.

St. Rose Preschool and Classroom Rebuild, along with the Cardinal Newman High School classroom rebuild, are selected as winners of a 2019 Journal Top Real Estate Projects Award.
10. GMH LANDS NEW WORK WITH GALLO ON THE RANCH WINERY REFRIGERATION UPGRADES
Located in Rutherford, GMH Builders picks up new work with Gallo’s Ranch Winery. On this project, GMH Builders is working closely with ColdFlo Mechanical to facilitate refrigeration upgrades at The Ranch Winery. A 6’ thick, monolithic matt slab (300 yards) was constructed to house the new mechanical equipment, while raising these essential facilities out of the floodplain. Work is closely coordinated with Gallo construction management personnel to ensure winery operations were not impacted.
