Owner and Interior Designer Susan Waxman along with her husband Richard purchased the modest ranch house in 2003. They were captivated by the surrounding vineyards and fact that the home was located on one of Sonoma’s premiere country roads.

After many improvements it was determined in 2018 that a complete property and residence renovation was needed to bring the home to it’s full potential.

The concept was to enhance the stunning views from every window by the expansion of floor to ceiling windows and high contrast  white walls with black trim.

The monochromatic interior color-palette takes a back seat to the everchanging images provided by the natural beauty of nature.

Clean, contemporary interior lines were paired with natural materials to ground the space. Braided sisal area rugs are scattered throughout and the earthiness of a large custom firewood wall structure in the main dining room creates balance.

The owners worked with a local landscape architect to create multiple gathering areas for visiting friends and family. Guests tend to huddle around the Mugnaini wood burning oven for lively conversations.

A stone path through the owners private pinot vineyard leads to a modern guest and pool house.

In addition to the obvious aforementioned aesthics, the greatest benefit is the enjoyment the residents experience on a daily basis in their newly transformed home.
